Bassey Okon Ibio, MNSE is a renewable energy professional, project manager, and social impact leader based in Abuja, Nigeria. She studied Electronic Engineering, which laid the technical foundation for her growing work in the renewable energy sector. She is the founder of The Solar Babe, a solar energy and engineering services business dedicated to providing affordable, reliable, and sustainable alternative power solutions for homes and businesses across Nigeria. Through this platform, she contributes to expanding energy access by promoting practical solar solutions that reduce dependence on generators and provide uninterrupted power supply. With experience in project management and renewable energy systems, Bassey has been involved in solar procurement, system design, installations, and client consultations. She is passionate about making clean energy practical and accessible for everyday Nigerians, particularly as a reliable solution to the country’s persistent power challenges. Beyond her work in the energy sector, she is also the Executive Director of Ceto Dedicated Development Foundation (CDD Foundation), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable populations through medical aid, educational support, and community outreach initiatives. In this role, she provides strategic leadership and oversees programs that deliver support to women and children in need. Since its establishment in 2024, the foundation has impacted hundreds of women and children through targeted interventions in hospitals, schools, and orphanage homes. Bassey is committed to advancing women’s participation in the clean energy sector and promoting inclusive opportunities within the energy transition. Her work combines renewable energy development with social impact, reflecting her belief that energy access is a powerful driver of economic empowerment and sustainable development.
